Project planning and controls expertise to manage demolition works schedule on a business critical project.

The Company: Thompsons of Prudhoe

Thompsons of Prudhoe are a demolition company. Probitas were engaged to provide expertise on  a very high profile project based at the Teesworks site in Redcar on the banks of the River Tees, in the heart of the Tees Valley’s industrial landscape. This particular project was part of the scope to develop the site into the UK’s largest Freeport.

The Problem

Thompsons had some demolition and remediations works scheduled. These included, but were not limited to, sizeable structures and land clearance works such as the BOS Plant, Redcar Blast Furnace and Redcar Coke Oven Battery. It was vital that the works ran on time as the Teesworks project has defined timelines to meet.

The Solution

After being contracted, Probitas worked with the assigned project teams to develop and provide project planning support and controls expertise to allow onsite teams to have a structured plan of works to be completed, with associated works, timelines and durations clearly defined. This also aided the client to provide regular and concise progress reports against defined baseline to their client to show works completed to date and upcoming demolition works across the site.

The Result

All defined demolition works and land clearances were executed safely and on time. Thompsons were extremely satisfied with what was achieved as were their client.

His knowledge, expertise and understanding of planning principles are always evident when Pete produces and marks-up our programmes.
