Project planning and controls expertise on an energy site’s business critical maintenance outage.
The Company
My client was a world class developer, owner and operator of power generation facilities, whose extensive expertise helped to ensure a stable, dependable energy supply for all.
The Problem
The business had a major plant maintenance outage to achieve in line with scheduled maintenance over a designated time-period. The plant being out-of-action meant lost revenue and loss of service to key clients and end users.
The Solution
Probitas provided expert project planning and controls expertise that included, but was not limited to:
- Working with senior engineers, scaffold teams, onsite subject matter experts, other engineering experts, the outage manager and senior teams to formulate a robust, accurate and concise project plan that outlined all the steps that had to be undertaken during the outage from day one power down, to scaffold schedules, maintenance works schedules, through to completion of works, power on and demobilisation of all seconded workers on site
- Project progress reporting
- Daily project updates
- Reporting of progress in daily briefs (from a progress perspective)
- Produced projects controls information (on request)
- Communicated with SMEs for each area of engineering works to ensure topical daily updates were done
The Result
The outage was completed on time, safely and effectively and on plan. My client therefore did not have to have extra loss of revenue and service downtime.
Within the activities Peter provided daily updates and feedback on a complex mix of planned and emergent activities.
Peter’s engagement was professional, with the appropriate challenge provided to all of the contract partners this process and review was then applied daily and weekly.
The application of accurate and on time planning, was essential to the success of the project, Peter’s input and collaboration was key to achieving the end outcome for the business.
Peter provided updates and reports that were key for my own daily and weekly deliverable to the wider business and from my direct engagement I would recommend Peter to provide project planning and schedule services.
